Moving the Studio and Embracing Change

After more than two decades living in beautiful sunny Southern California along the ocean, the studio (and me) moved to beautiful Sonoma county, in Northern California.

It's funny how life can change in a blink and seem so "accidental"!  I was asked to house sit and sublet for a friend who was off to Canada for what was supposed to be a 3-4 month project . This was an amazing property on 4 acres, and a yurt to boot!  This amazing yurt was built from redwood, and the property was filled with a plethora of wildlife, including three chickens, a family of wild turkeys, deer, birds and more!  Every morning was a wild nature adventure!

Suddenly plans changes after only being there a month, I was told she had to return to California...the project was cancelled!!  Oh no, what to do!!  I really loved the area and wasn't quite ready to leave!  As luck/karma/destiny would have it, I found this sweet little cottage in the woods! This charming home was built in the 1960s, and it so utterly cozy and perfect!

There is an enclosed sunroom which is now the new home for my studio!  I can create while looking into the forest! It's so peaceful here, and in the mornings I am greeted by a rooster's cock-a-doodle-doo and the daily visit from my neighbor's beautiful Russian Blue cat.

Who ever thought a former city girl, who became an ocean girl would wind up in the forest and in the country?  Never in a million years, and here I am and loving it ! Life is sweet!
